A Little Taste of Winter

The first snow fell in Madison this weekend so I took a walk in Owen Conservation Park on Sunday. Here are a few photos taken with the cell phone. Believe it or not, I actually love winter weather. I’m hoping I get a few more good snowfalls before I head to Florida for shows this winter.

This is a place I often go but rarely photograph. It’s usually my getaway from the basement to stretch my legs and get some exercise. Owen Conservation Park is an awesome 96 acre nature preserve that is a quarter mile from our house. It’s hard to believe you are only 5 miles from the State Capitol while you are hiking it’s trails.

“Insta-CAMeron” photos (painful pun intended) are random cell phone photos taken by Cameron Gillie on his travels.

Here’s a panorama stitched together from the cell phone. (unfortunately a blog is a poor way to display long panoramic photos)

A cross country skier pressed this oak leaf into the freshly fallen snow

I loved how these dried echinacea flowers held a little snowball onto their cones.

I like how the oak savanas in Owen look in a stitched together photograph.
